Edward Gordon - Biography

“My goal is to make paintings so realistic that viewers
are drawn into the imaginary space and share in the peaceful feelings I try to incorporate into each work”

The paintings of Edward Gordon are technically correct while the images created take on a surrealistic quality. Although his subject matter varies painting to painting, Edward’s inspiration is always the light. Gordon’s formidable technique, meticulous detail and desolate emptiness speak of a personal vision.

Edward Gordon was born in Ocean City, New Jersey in 1940 and after receiving a BA from Rutgers University, pursued a career as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1980, af- ter much encouragement from his well received early works, Edward made the bold move to leave the security of a 9 to 5 job to fulfill a life-long dream and dedicate his time and energy painting.
